I archived something by mistake

How to get back a project or initiative you archived by mistake.

Written by Blake McGregor

You can't undo archiving in Grove. The Grove team can restore archived work for you.

Ask us to restore it

Contact the Grove team. See Get help from the Grove team. Tell us:

  • Your workspace's name.

  • The project ID, such as P-003, or the initiative's name.

  • About when you archived it.

When you archive an initiative, Grove archives every project in it. Tell us if you need all of them back.

Grove can also archive a Scratchpad document, visual, or decision guide when you ask it to. To get one back, tell us its name too, and the initiative or project it was in. If you archived a document with the visuals in it, tell us which ones you need.

Until it's restored

  • Archived work doesn't show in the Work tables, the Queue, or the Scratchpad.

  • A link to an archived document says the document has been archived.

  • Where a document showed an archived visual, it shows a one-line note with the visual's name.

  • Nobody can change it, and Grove can't read it.

Avoid it next time

Before Grove archives anything, it asks you to confirm. It lists each project and initiative, or names the Scratchpad item and the visuals going with it. Check the list before you click Archive.
