You can give Grove files in the chat and in the New work window. Grove reads them, and uses them to plan with you.
File types

Other types, such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files, don't work. Save them as PDF first.
Sizes
Each file: up to 3 MB.
All files in one message: up to 4 MB together.
Grove makes large images smaller before it uploads them. You see "Resizing images for upload…". GIFs become PNGs.
How to attach
Click + (Add file) in the message box, and pick the file.
Or drag a file into the message box.
Or paste an image.
Who can see your files
Your files stay with the message in your chat. Your chats are yours only. Your teammates can't see them.
If your team needs a file, ask Grove to put what matters into a document, or the Scratchpad. See Use the Scratchpad.
Upload messages
Message | What to do |
"not supported. Accepted: .md, .txt, .pdf, .png, .jpg, .gif, .webp" | Save the file as one of these types. |
"exceeded the 3 MB per-file limit" | Use a smaller file, or split a long PDF. |
"too large to read — keep uploads under 25 MB." | The file is much too large. Use a smaller file. |
"still over 3 MB after resizing. Try a lower-resolution source." | Use a smaller image, or a screenshot of the part you need. |
"couldn't be processed" or "couldn't be read" | Try a different file, or save the image again as PNG. |
"Combined attachments exceed 4 MB. Remove some and try again." | Send fewer files in this message. Send the rest in the next one. |
