Fix the messages you can see when you connect GitHub, and a connection that needs to be reconnected.

Only workspace admins can connect or fix GitHub. You do it in Settings › GitHub. See Connect GitHub.

What it means

What to do

"A GitHub organization owner needs to approve the Grove app. Once approved, connect again."

You aren't an owner of the GitHub organization. GitHub sent the owner a request.

Ask the owner to approve the Grove app. Then click Connect GitHub again.

"App installed, but no repositories were selected."

You didn't give Grove any repositories.

Go back to GitHub, and give Grove access to at least one repository.

"You do not have access to manage this workspace's GitHub connection."

You aren't a workspace admin.

Ask a workspace admin to connect GitHub.

"We couldn't complete the connection. Try connecting again."

Something went wrong between GitHub and Grove.

Click Connect GitHub again. If it keeps failing, contact us.

"Needs reconnection"

An organization's row in Settings › GitHub shows Needs reconnection when GitHub no longer gives Grove access. For example, someone uninstalled the Grove app on GitHub.

  • To keep using that organization, click Reconnect on GitHub, and approve the app again.

  • If you don't want it anymore, click Disconnect.

Grove can't see a repository

Grove reads only the repositories you picked on GitHub.

  1. In Settings › GitHub, open the organization's list of repositories.

  2. If the repository isn't there, click Manage on GitHub, and add it.

Grove picks up the change the next time an admin opens Settings › GitHub. After a repository is added, it can take a few minutes before Grove can use all the code.

You aren't an admin

If you see Connect GitHub on a project's Delivery tab, and you can't connect it, ask a workspace admin.
