Every plan document in Grove is shared. You, your teammates, and Grove can all write in the same document at the same time. Changes appear for everyone as they're made, and save by themselves.
Everyone in the workspace can edit every plan document.
Edit together
Your teammates: each person shows as a colored cursor with their name. A cursor fades out shortly after that person stops typing.
Grove: Grove's cursor is labeled Grove. Its text appears as it writes.
No locks: two people can type in the same document, even in the same section. Changes merge as they happen. If you change the exact text Grove was about to replace, Grove reads the document again and redoes its change.
Follow Grove as it writes
When Grove is writing in a document, Grove's badge shows next to the document's name. The badge also shows in the sidebar.
Point at the badge to see Grove is editing, and then Grove recently edited for 2 minutes after it finishes.
By default, your view follows Grove as it writes. If you click somewhere else in the document, following pauses until Grove's next reply.
To stop following, click the badge. Click it again to follow again.
The badge only shows Grove's work in the chat you have open.
Format text
Select text to show the formatting toolbar: text style and headings, Bold (Cmd+B), Italic (Cmd+I), Underline (Cmd+U), strikethrough, code (Cmd+E), quote, code block, bulleted list, numbered list, and Start a thread.
Type / on an empty line to insert a heading, a list, a quote, a code block, or a divider.
On Windows, use Ctrl in place of Cmd.
Raise a point about a passage
Select the text, then click Start a thread in the toolbar, or press Cmd+Shift+M. Type your point, and click Submit. The thread stays attached to that passage. See Use threads to ask, flag, and decide.
See what Grove changed
After Grove edits a document, its reply in the chat ends with a View changes link. Click it to see the changes highlighted in the document.
The header says Changes to and the document's name, the time span, and who made the changes.
Switch between Compare inline and Compare side-by-side. Side by side, each change is marked Added, Removed, Modified, or Unchanged.
Click Done to go back to the document.
If the document changes again while you look, you see New changes available. Refresh to see them.
Other controls at the top of a document
Edited shows when the document last changed, such as "Edited 2 minutes ago." Click it to see who edited last, or to open the version history. See See and restore earlier versions.
Copy link copies a link to the document.
Enter fullscreen gives the document the whole window.
